The Shefa School is a Jewish community day school in Manhattan serving students in grades K-8 who benefit from a specialized educational environment in order to develop their strengths while addressing their learning challenges. We specifically serve students with language-based learning disabilities who have not yet reached their potential levels of success in traditional classroom settings. Shefa is a pluralistic community school, serving families across the range of Jewish involvement and observance. This position includes the following key responsibilities:
● Substitute teaching on a daily basis for small groups of students in Grades 6-8 across a range of subjects
● Assisting in classes and schoolwide duties such as lunch and recess duty
● Helping with school projects as assigned

We seek teachers who are fast learners, flexible, and able to follow pre-determined lesson plans while also taking initiative to make adjustments when necessary.
