The Shefa School is a Jewish community day school in Manhattan serving students in grades K-8 who benefit from a specialized educational environment in order to develop their strengths while addressing their learning challenges. We specifically serve students with language-based learning disabilities who have not yet reached their potential levels of success in traditional classroom settings. Shefa is a pluralistic community school, serving families across the range of Jewish involvement and observance. The Shefa School is seeking one Lower School Floater Teacher and one Middle School Floater Teacher for September 2026. These are full-time positions.
This positions includes the following key responsibilities:
● Substitute teaching on a daily basis for small groups of students across a range of subjects
● Assisting in classes and schoolwide duties such as lunch and recess duty
● Helping with school projects as assigned
Ideal candidates will have a range of experience working with students acrossages and subjects. We seek teachers who are fast learners, flexible, and ableto follow pre-determined lesson plans while also taking initiative to makeadjustments when necessary.
