The Shefa Teacher Residency is a groundbreaking and highly selective program that recruits and trains individuals to become exceptional teachers by providing an intensive and supportive school-based teacher training program. Over the residency year, teacher residents train in classrooms with mentor teachers and take on increasing responsibility for teaching while gaining support through on-site professional development, workshops, and coaching. Residents receive robust training in a variety of programs including Responsive Classroom, PAF Reading Program, and Multisensory Math. At the end of the year, teacher residents are not only eligible candidates for The Shefa Teacher Fellowship Year - a direct pathway to a lead teaching position - but also have the opportunity to apply for a student support role at Shefa.
